Brigadoon (1957 Revival)
Set in a mystical Scottish Highland village that appears for one single day every century, Brigadoon follows two American visitors who fall deeply in love while grappling with the impossibility of belonging to a place outside of time.
In the 1957 Broadway revival, Helen Gallagher portrayed Meg Brockie, the warmhearted and vivacious villager whose community spirit adds heart and humor to the production. With choreography by Agnes de Mille, restaged by James Jamieson, Meg’s energetic dance numbers and spirited presence offered Gallagher a role well-suited to her singing and dancing strengths.
