Brigadoon
Set amid the evocative Highlands of Scotland and the verdant mist of a time-bending village, Brigadoon tells the story of two American soldiers who stumble upon a magical town that appears only once every hundred years. As they fall in love with the ethereal Fiona, the fleeting nature of Brigadoon’s enchantment unravels themes of destiny, longing, and sacrifice.
In the original 1947 Broadway production at Manhattan’s Ziegfeld Theatre, Helen Gallagher joined the chorus as a dancer under the visionary choreography of Agnes de Mille, contributing to some of the era’s most memorable ensemble dance sequences. Though a non‑leading role, Gallagher’s participation in this landmark show grounded her Broadway beginnings in classic musical storytelling and innovative dance staging.
